Kemple Children’s Dental Clinic begins ‘Brighter Smiles’ campaign

KTVZ

Kemple Memorial Children’s Dental Clinic has announced the kick-off of its 2016 Brighter Smiles Campaign, which runs May 1 st through June 30 th .

This is the 12 th year that Kemple Clinic, a Bend-based nonprofit, has collaborated with Central Oregon dentists to bring the Brighter Smiles Campaign to the community.

The fundraiser provides teeth whitening services for just $200, a 50% savings, and all money raised during the two-month effort supports Kemple Clinic’s mission to provide dental care for children and young adults in Central Oregon whose oral health is at risk.

Through the Brighter Smiles Campaign, Kemple Clinic provides all whitening product to participating dentists, who then donate all funds raised to Kemple Clinic’s work.

Patients who want to take advantage of the discounted whitening services do so by simply contacting their dental provider to see if they are participating in the Brighter Smiles Campaign and then schedule an appointment before the end of June.

As Suzanne Browning, Kemple Clinic’s Executive Director, states, “This is a simple way for people to get beautiful white teeth at a great price and support a great cause at the same time. We think that’s something everyone can smile about!”

The 2016 campaign goal of $35,000 is getting an additional boost from a matching grant. Once the Brighter Smiles Campaign contributions surpass the $15,000 mark, another $15,000 will be donated to Kemple Clinic by the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Foundation.

According to Browning, This is the first year we’ve had a matching grant challenge and we are grateful to the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Foundation for their generosity and support. We encourage patients to help us quickly meet this goal by scheduling their whitening appointment early so that we can assist children and young people in the community who might not otherwise receive desperately needed dental care.”

The State of Oregon is ranked among the worst in the nation for oral health. In fact, state educators estimate that 5,000 students each day suffer from dental pain or infection, resulting in increased absenteeism. The Brighter Smiles Campaign ensures Central Oregon children and young adults get the dental care they to be healthy, productive and happy. About Kemple Memorial Children’s Dental Clinic

Kemple Clinic was founded in 1998 by retired dentist and long-time Bend resident, Dr. H.M. Kemple. Dr. Kemple’s goal as founder was to eliminate pediatric oral disease. To this day, Kemple Clinic strives to support that mission by providing free, high quality, on-site dental treatments to at-risk youth (ages 3-25). We offer these uninsured, underinsured and/or underserved individuals free, full-service dental hygiene appointments at the Kemple Clinic facility. For acute dental needs, Kemple works with over 70 volunteer dentists to deliver urgent and critical dental treatment services to these at-risk individuals. Kemple Clinic also offers comprehensive Screen & Seal Programs: convenient dental screenings, fluoride and sealant applications, and preventative education at community locations throughout Central Oregon. Kemple is the only non-profit in the region that provides these services, because it believes that improving the health and well-being of all children and young adults in the community creates a strong, healthy workforce and a vibrant economy.
