Kaylee Sawyer remembered as ‘magical’

KTVZ

A whole community is feeling the loss of 23-year-old Kaylee Sawyer. Many who knew her said she was beautiful, both inside and out.

“The best way I can describe her is magical,” Teresa Findley said Wednesday. “She was just vibrant, and that carried through everything she did, the words she said, the smile on her face,. You felt all of that.”

Rachel Cook, a former high school classmate, remembers her welcoming personality.

“People didn’t really just know Kaylee as a person — they were friends with her. Because I think the second you meet Kaylee, she’s your friend,” she said.

Sawyer worked at a dental office in town, where she had just celebrated her two-year anniversary. Findley worked beside Sawyer for the past year.

“At work, when we were doing things, I’d always tell her, ‘You’re so great at your job — patients just love you.’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, I want to be a dentist one day,'” Findley recalled.

Sawyer had plans to return to school in the fall.

“She had a lot of really big goals, and she would have conquered those goals,” Findley said.

Friends say they will remember her contagious smile and laughter forever.

“If you were to leave a legacy the one that she has left is exactly what she would’ve wanted out of life, the way she made people feel,” Cook said. “And I know that all of my friends and everybody I knew that knew her, are just happy that they got to know her.”
