Prineville man sentenced to 20 years for rape, abuse

A 36-year-old Prineville man arrested earlier this year on two-dozen rape and abuse charges received a 20-year prison sentence on Friday, Crook County authorities said.

Warren Doescher Jr. was arrested in mid-March during a Redmond traffic stop after a now 16-year-old girl reported being the victim of abuse over a period of years, Chief Deputy Aaron Brenneman said.

Doescher was re-arrested earlier this month in southern Oregon, accused of violating a non-contact order in the case.

Under a plea negotiation, Doescher pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree rape and sexual abuse.

Crook County Circuit Judge Gary Williams ruled that after the 20-year sentence is served, Doescher will be on post-prison supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender. He also is not eligible for any reduced sentence. Brenneman said.

At Friday’s sentencing, the victim’s mother and grandmother’s prepared statement was read to the court, Brenneman said.
