A dozen owed thousands after Portland surrogacy center shuts down

KTVZ

A Bend woman is among a dozen owed thousands of dollars after a surrogacy center in the Portland area suddenly shut down.

After the business shut down in April, a judge ordered Jeri Chambers, the owner of The Greatest Gift Surrogacy Center, to pay more than $173,000.

Chambers admitted taking money from people who were paying for a surrogate to carry a child for them. She allegedly did not follow through with the service and spent the money on other things.
