Beaverton PD: Father killed his two children, self

A 36-year-old Beaverton man apparently shot and killed his 6-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter, then himself Wednesday afternoon, police said. No names were released, but police confirmed the crime in the early evening. Police said around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the Redwood Creek Apartments near SW Greenway Avenue and Hall Boukevard regarding three people possibly deceased inside a residence. A female relative found the victims and called 911. Police arrived and confirmed two children and an adult male were deceased inside the residence. Washington County Major Crimes and Beaverton Police Detectives are currently investigating this as a homicide/suicide.

“At this time, we do not believe there is a risk to the public,” they said. “There will be traffic delays in the area due to this incident. Additional information will be released at a later time.”
