Lamar forces 27 turnovers, defeats Oregon State 63-60

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Colton Weisbrod had 16 points and 12 rebounds as Lamar forced 27 turnovers and held on to beat Oregon State 63-60 on Wednesday night.

Marcus Owens added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals (2-0).

Drew Eubanks had 17 points, a career-high 18 rebounds and six blocks for the Beavers (2-1). Jaquori McLaughlin added 15 points.

The Beavers trailed 54-48 when they resorted to fouling with 1:13 remaining. The Cardinals left the door open by shooting 8 of 13 on free throws.

With 1.5 seconds left, Lamar led 63-60 and had Torey Noel at the line but he missed his second free throw. Oregon State trailed by three but Tres Tinkle’s desperation heave wasn’t close.

The Cardinals led 29-25 at the break after forcing the Beavers into 18 first-half turnovers.
