Thanksgiving Eve robber hits Bend Dollar Tree
Bend police released two security-camera images Thursday in hopes the public can help them catch a man who staged a Thanksgiving Eve holdup of the Dollar Tree store on South Highway 97.
Officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to the Dollar Tree at 61470 S. Highway 97 regarding the reported robbery, said Sgt. Ron Taylor.
The robber entered the business, claimed to have a gun and demanded money of the two female employees there at the time, Taylor said. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
The employees were uninjured, he added.
Bend police, including a K-9 team, searched the area with the help of Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police troopers but were unable to find the suspect, Taylor said.
The suspect was described as a white male adult, about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark brown Carhartt-type jacket, with black Carhartt-type pants and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
Anyone with information that could help police find the suspect was asked to contact Bend police through the Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch center at 541-693-6911.
