St. Charles Foundation Saints Gala nets $270,000
St. Charles Foundation’s 2016 Saints Gala broke its own record and netted more than $270,000.
The Nov. 4 event at the Riverhouse Convention Center was sold out. This year’s gala featured an Old Hollywood Glamour theme, gourmet meal, live and silent auctions and a big-ticket raffle. Auction packages included a private Super Bowl party for 70 at the Pine Tavern and a beach getaway to Costa Rica.
During the event, Bend Memorial Clinic nephrologist Dr. Robert V. Pinnick was awarded this year’s North Star Award, recognizing an actively practicing physician in the region whose work has been defined by compassionate patient care, professionalism and a commitment to improving the lives of Central Oregonians.
More than $130,000 from a successful paddle raise will directly support the pediatric hospitalist program at St. Charles, giving children in the region access to exceptional, specialty inpatient care right here at home.
“Having the capacity to treat hospitalized children at St. Charles makes a world of difference for our patients and their families,” said Dr. Suzanne Mendez, pediatric hospitalist at St. Charles. “We appreciate the work of Central Oregon Pediatric Associates, Bend Memorial Clinic and St. Charles to make this pediatric hospitalist program a reality. With the generosity of those at the Saints Gala, we will be able to provide a more pleasant experience for hospitalized children in Central Oregon.”
The Saints Gala is St. Charles Foundation’s signature annual fundraising event for community members who wish to invest in quality health care for Central Oregonians. Each year proceeds go to a priority campaign, program or department as well as to supporting St. Charles Health System’s vision of “Creating America’s healthiest community, together.”
