Pair sought in armed holdup of S. Bend 7-Eleven

Two men, at least one of them armed with a gun, held up the 7-Eleven on Bend’s Southeast Third Street early Thursday, police said as they released two security-camera images of the suspects and sought public tips.

Police responded around 3:45 a.m. to the 7-Eleven convenience store at 1185 Southeast Third Street on the reported armed robbery, said Lt. Clint Burleigh.

An initial report from an employee was that two men walked in, displayed a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of money, he said. Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the initial response, and police detectives also responded to continue the investigation.

Unconfirmed police scanner reports indicated the men headed toward in the direction of nearby Brosterhous Road and were in a black four-door Honda Civic that could have rear-end crash damage.

One reportedly had a flannel shirt and was in a green camouflage outfit and the other, with the gun, wore a black jacket and a bandana over his face, An officer reportedly found knives and gloves that fell out of the car.

Burleigh said detectives are looking to corroborate other initial details given over the police scanner, but have confirmed there were two adult males involved and at least one firearm was used. They left in a dark-colored four-door passenger car.
