Ex-Klamath sheriff’s excessive force trial delayed
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – The trial of Klamath County’s former sheriff has been postponed as the defense needs more time to review recently received documents.
The Herald and News reports (http://bit.ly/2jLhzlk ) that a judge on Wednesday approved a motion to continue former sheriff Frank Skrah’s Feb. 8 trial date. Neither a new trial date nor a hearing to set a new trial date were scheduled as of Thursday.
Skrah’s attorney argued that she needed more time to review documents that she received in late January.
Skrah has been charged with nine misdemeanor counts related to three alleged incidents of excessive use of force and one alleged incident of neglect of property owner’s rights. He faces up to a year in jail.
