PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Searchers have found a toddler whose mother reported waking up Saturday morning to find the boy missing from her bed.

Portland Police say Mountain Wave Search and Rescue crews found 2-year-old River in some blackberry bushes not far from his home 11:45 a.m. Saturday. His mother called police at about 6 a.m. to report him missing.

He was taken to the hospital to be treated to exposure to cold and some scratches.

Police said officers and searchers from several agencies looked for several hours in and around the neighborhood near Rose City Golf Course.

Police had described the boy as very mobile with no known health issues.

Investigators will forward the case to the Oregon Department of Human Services for review, which is typical in cases involving child welfare.
