Traffic to shift on Bend 27th Street sewer project

KTVZ

Work continues throughout Bend’s 27th Street corridor, including isolated areas of paving. Approximately 5,000 feet of the sewer pipe has been installed in this construction phase. There will be several traffic shifts as the work continues.

Daytime construction for sewer installation on Neff Road between Medical Center Drive and 27th Street is scheduled to begin Monday, March 6.

The westbound lane on Neff Road between Medical Center Drive and 27th Street will be closed to all traffic. Detours will be signed to direct westbound travelers to Butler Market Road or Hwy 20 depending on the traveler’s approach to Neff Road. All accesses to St Charles remain open. Specifically, access from the east is made at Medical Center Drive or Conners Avenue.

Follow the blue hospital signs.

Please travel slowly in these areas for your safety and for the safety of the workers.

The 27th Street Sewer Line is part of the Southeast Interceptor, an infrastructure addition to the City’s sewer collection system that will provide relief to capacity issues around Bend. The Southeast Interceptor provides needed enhancements to the city’s sewer collection system. Benefits include:

Increased collection system capacity
The availability of gravity sewer service to hundreds of homes that are currently on septic systems
The opportunity to decommission several sewer pump stations

The City of Bend protects drinking water sources, public health and the environment by conveying and treating wastewater from throughout the City.
