Two men arrested in SE Bend cocaine raid
An investigation into cocaine dealing prompted a raid early Friday morning on a southeast Bend home that led to the arrest of two Bend men and seizure of drugs, cash and two guns, authorities said.
Members of the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, assisted by Bend police, executed a search warrant around 6:45 a.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Southeast Skylark Drive, said Lt. Nick Parker. It resulted from a short-term investigation into cocaine possession and delivery.
Shawnte Laray Harris, 38, and Derone Patrick Harris, 46, were taken into custody without incident in the home and taken to the Deschutes County Jail, where both were booked on charges of cocaine possession and delivery, as well as frequenting a place where drugs are used, Parker said.
Derone Harris also is charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
Detectives seized more than a quarter-ounce of cocaine, as well as cash, scales, packaging material and two firearms, the lieutenant said.
Shawnte Harris was held on $45,000 bail Friday afternoon and Deron Harris on $55,000 pending an initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
