Bend traffic stop, drug raid lead to three arrests

A month-long investigation of methamphetamine distribution in Central Oregon led to a traffic stop and raid on a northeast Bend home on Wednesday, the seizure of five ounces of meth and the arrests of three people, drug agents said Thursday.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team members and a Bend police officer pulled over a 1978 van near the intersection of Pettigrew Road and Thomas Drive in Bend, said Lt. Nick Parker.

Driver Jason Rydell Johnson, 36, of Bend, alone in the van, had been seen leaving a home in the 1800 block of Northeast Moonglow Court, Parker said. Investigators seized more than an ounce of meth from Johnson’s car.

Around 6:20 p.m., CODE Team detectives served a search warrant at the Moonglow Court address and arrested Judith Lynn Flanders, 56, of Bend, also without incident, Parker said. At the home, investigators seized nearly two ounces of the drug, cash, scales, drug records and packaging material.

During the raid, transient Preston McNeely, 52, arrived, in possession of more than two ounces of meth, Parker said, and he too was taken into custody.

All three were charged with drug delivery and possession, while McNeely also was charged with manufacture, Parker said. Only Johnson was booked into the Deschutes County Jail, where he remained held Thursday on $50,000 bail.
