OSP identifies woman killed, 3 injured in Hwy. 20E crash
A Yoncalla woman was killed and three people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Highway 20E at the Brothers Rest Area, Oregon State Police said Saturday.
Troopers and medics responded around 1:45 p.m. to the reported crash near milepost 43 in eastern Deschutes County, said OSP Sgt. Kyle Hove.
A preliminary investigation found that Amber Dawn Wilsey, 40, was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima heading west with passengers Teresa Ann Haley, 66, both of Yoncalla, and Ross Anthony Denten, 46, of Oakland, when an eastbound 2010 Toyota Rav4 driven by Mary Virginia Boswell, 84, of Seneca, tried to make a left-hand turn into the Brothers Rest Area, Hove said.
The Rav4’s front passenger side corner struck the front of the Nissan, causing extensive damage, he said.
Haley suffered fatal injuries in the crash, Hove said. Wilsey, Denten and Boswell suffered serious injuries and were taken to St. Charles Bend.
A St. Charles house supervisor said Denten and Boswell were in fair condition at the hospital Saturday night, while Wiley had been discharged.
The westbound lane of the highway was closed for about six hours while troopers investigated the crash, Hove said..
