Knopp, Whisnant plan Deschutes Co. town halls Friday

Two Central Oregon state lawmakers plan a series of town hall gatherings around Deschutes County next Friday to gather public input on issues facing the state.

Sen. Tim Knopp, R-Bend, and Rep. Gene Whisnant, R-Sunriver, said Saturday they will begin with a 10-11 a.m. public meeting at the Sunriver Library at 56855 Venture Lane in the Sunriver Business Park.

From 1-2 p.m., they will be at the Christian Life Center Church at 21720 E. Highway 20 in Bend, and from 3:30-4:30 p.m at the new Redmond City Hall, 411 SW Ninth Street.

Knopp and Whisnant said they plan to discuss the 79th Legislative Assembly, which has completed its first 60 days. They will hear from citizens with their concerns about the state budget, revenue proposals and other policies and bills up for discussion,
