Public input sought on new SE Bend community park

KTVZ

Bend’s Southeast area is getting a much-needed community park, and the Bend Park and Recreation District is asking for input.

As part of the 2012 district bond measure, land was purchased for a future community park in the Southeast area. The 37-acre parcel is on the west side of 15 th Street and south of Golden Gate Place/future Murphy Road alignment.

As planning and programming analysis is underway, public input is requested via an electronic questionnaire. The questionnaire is open now and input will be accepted until April 17 . Access the questionnaire here . The survey was previously open in January and February with input collected from nearly 500 neighbors of the area.

“Because of the community-wide use expected for the new park, the survey is being reopened to encourage broader input from residents throughout Bend,” said Ian Isaacson, landscape designer, Bend Park and Recreation District.

“This is an exciting opportunity to consider broad possibilities for this important park, so we ask residents to please spare a few minutes to answer a handful of questions for us,” he added.
