Medford police arrest murder suspect after standoff

KTVZ

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Medford police arrested a homicide suspect after a standoff at a home near Gold Hill.

The agency said in a Facebook post late Thursday that 25-year-old Frank Hernandez surrendered after tear gas was deployed into the home. The post said Hernandez had warned officers that he had firearms, and might shoot himself or force officers to kill him.

Police recovered a handgun and a shotgun from the home.

Hernandez is suspected in Wednesday’s fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man at an apartment complex on Table Rock Road. Police said Hernandez and the victim had a dispute over drugs.
