Pedestrian injured in Bend Parkway hit-and-run crash
Bend police asked the public for help Saturday in finding the driver in an early-morning hit-and-run crash on the Bend Parkway that left a man recovering from serious injuries in the hospital.
Police responded around 12:50 a.m. to the report of a man lying in the middle of northbound Highway 97 near the Reed Market Road intersection, said Lt. Brian Kindel. The arrived and found the man in the northbound lanes near the Wilson Street overpass.
The victim, identified as Horacio Morales Gonzales, was found with serious injuries, and debris at the scene indicated he was struck by a car of unknown make or model, Kindel said.
Morales was taken to St. Charles Bend with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the lieutenant said. A house supervisor at the hospital said he was listed in fair condition late Saturday afternoon.
As police continue to investigate the incident and process the evidence they recovered, they are seeking the public’s help with any information.
If you have information, you’re asked to call Bend police through the Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch number, 541-693-6911.
