Driver hits several vehicles in Bend Walmart parking lot

KTVZ

A driver who may have suffered a medical issue struck at least three other cars, a scooter and a pedestrian in the Bend Walmart parking lot early Tuesday afternoon, police said. Four people went to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police and fire medics were called to the store on Pinebrook Boulevard after the crash was reported around 12:45 p.m.

The driver, at the wheel of an Audi reportedly going 30 to 35 mph, also struck a parking lot display of outdoor products, sending it scattering, witnesses said.

One witness said she saw the driver slumped over in his seat, and police said he appeared to be dazed when officers and medics arrived on scene and got the man out of the car.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Bend, as were two people in one of the cars that was struck and a pedestrian who reportedly had his foot run over. There were several other close calls in the busy parking lot, according to witnesses.

We’ll have more details as available.
