The Central Oregon Visitors Association announced Friday it was awarded the Oregon International Sales & Development Award at the 2017 Travel and Tourism Industry Achievement Awards announced at the 2017 Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

The award honors COVA’s successful effort to secure the 2018 International Association of Golf Tour Operators North American Conference to be held at Sunriver Resort, June 25 – 28, 2018. IAGTO – NAC is a 4-day, 500-person conference will have immediate economic impacts in the region, as well as the long-term value of introducing hundreds of worldwide tour operators and wholesalers on a personalized and intensive site tour of Central Oregon.

It is projected that in the first year following IAGTO – NAC, international bookings in Central Oregon will increase more than 10%. Partnerships and sponsorships with Travel Oregon, Sunriver Resort and Brand USA were instrumental in securing this opportunity for Oregon and Central Oregon.

The IAGTO-NAC is one of the most established, top tier international buyer conferences in the world. The conference retains an impeccable reputation and attendance at IAGTO – NAC is growing at 20% per year.

With the award of IAGTO – NAC, Central Oregon joins internationally renowned IAGTO-NAC host site destinations such as Doral, the Monterey Peninsula, Pinehurst, Palm Springs and Kiawah Island.
