(Update: Suspect enters not-guilty pleas)
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – A man accused of stabbing multiple people at a Corvallis home has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges.
Police say 22-year-old Benjamin Bucknell entered a home Monday and wounded five people before fleeing. Officers arrested him near a senior center.
The former Oregon State University student entered his not guilty pleas at his arraignment Tuesday afternoon. A judge scheduled a status hearing for next month.
Records show Bucknell was in the same courthouse last week, pleading not guilty to charges of burglary and criminal mischief. Prosecutors said he damaged a television and projector screen after breaking into a Corvallis apartment complex in February.
He was conditionally released from custody on Thursday.
He was booked into jail on charges of attempted murder, assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $525,000.
Court records identify the injured as Catherine Lisman, Dan Rinkevich, Jesus Valencia-Camacho, Evan Burns and Nolan Batuso. The most seriously injured patient was flown to a Portland hospital.
