Brant Kucera chosen as new Sisters city manager

KTVZ

The Sisters City Council voted 5-0 Wednesday evening to pick Brant Kucera to serve as the next city manager, topping a field of four candidates who visited the city for public gatherings and interviews in recent days..

The city said final approval is contingent upon the successful ratification of an employment agreement between Kucera and the city.

Kucera is currently city manager in the Oregon coastal town of Cannon Beach, where he’s served since November 2014.

He has 17 years of upper-level city management experience, including as borough manager of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and city manager in Gladstone, Michigan.

He holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from Northern Michigan University.

“The opportunity to recruit someone of the caliber of Brant to Sisters is fortunate,” said Mayor Chuck Ryan.

“The experience he gained in Cannon Beach gives him the unique skills required of a dynamic community like Sisters,” Ryan added.

The new city manager is expected to begin work in July, replacing Rick Allen, who has served as interim city manager since April 2016.

The recruitment process was directed by Jensen Strategies, LLC.
