Calif woman breaks arms, legs in S. Oregon cliff fall
BROOKINGS, Ore. (AP) – A sheriff says a woman suffered fractured arms and legs when she fell from a cliff at Chetco Point on the southwest Oregon coast.
Curry County Sheriff John Ward said Friday that Marina Vanhoy of Smith River, California, was exploring the area with friends on Thursday when she plunged 30 feet and landed on rocks.
A county rope-and-rappel team and the U.S. Coast Guard helped Brookings firefighters rescue Vanhoy. She was taken to a hospital in nearby Crescent City, California.
