Homeless village for women opens in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The first city-sponsored homeless village for women in Portland has opened.
KPTV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2spoPLY) that the tiny house community called the Kenton Women’s Village opened Friday.
The facility has space for 14 homeless women and provides shelter, cooking and bathing facilities.
The Partners on Dwelling Initiative and the Village Coalition built the village that also offers connections to health and financial services as the women transition to permanent housing.
