(Update: Missing man’s car found, search shifts)

Bend police asked the public Thursday to help them in efforts to find a missing 27-year-old man who hasn’t contacted family or friends since Monday. His car has been found in southeast Bend, officials said Friday, prompting a search in that area.

Officers took a report Tuesday of the missing man, identified as Chase Michael Hove, said Lt. Clint Burleigh.

They were told Hove had left his residence on Northeast Providence Drive with his vehicle, a 2014 white Chevy Cruze, with Oregon license plates 121 HED, Burleigh said.

“There are concerns that he might be a danger to himself,” the lieutenant wrote in a news release, asking the community to help them find Hove and/or his car.

An initial investigation led to information that indicated Hove might have traveled to the southwest part of Deschutes County, around Cascade Lakes Highway.

Burleigh said sheriff’s deputies and Sunriver police spent several hours Wednesday looking for Hove and-or his car in the area.

Police asked community members traveling in the area to pay special attention in trying to find the man.

In an update Friday morning, police said Hove’s car had been found in southeast Bend, prompting officers and detectives to actively search that area for him.

Anyone with information regarding Hove’s whereabouts or information on where he might be was asked to contact Bend police detectives through county dispatchers at 541-693-6911.
