A fire destroyed an unoccupied RV and damaged a family’s adjacent RV near Ochoco Reservoir east of Prineville Monday afternoon, officials said.

Crook County Fire & Rescue responded around 12:45 p.m. to the reported fire at Lakeshore RV Park on the Ochoco Highway with an engine, water tender and medic, said Fire Chief Matt Smith.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Smith said.

American Red Cross disaster responders were called out to assist the affected family, including two adults and five children.

The agency provided resources for immediate basic needs, such as temporary housing, flood, clothing, comfort kits and information about recovery services and health and mental health services, Red Cross officials said.
