Utah motorcyclist seriously injured in Hwy. 26 crash

A Utah motorcyclist was in serious condition Thursday at a Bend hospital, one day after hitting a pickup that pulled into his path on U.S. Highway 26 south of Madras, authorities said.
Oregon State Police said Lucas Crane, 24, of Orem, Utah, was flown by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend after the crash, which occurred around 3:20 p.m. at Highway 26 at Dover Lane, south of the Highway 97 intersection.
A hospital official said he was in serious condition Thursday afternoon.
Troopers said a preliminary investigation found Lucas was heading east on Highway 26 on a red 2015 Yamaha motorcycle when a white 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by James Ellis, 25, of Terrebonne, pulled out from Dover Lane to turn left and head west, turning into the motorcycle’s path.
The crash blocked the highway for about an hour, said OSP Lt. Mark Duncan.He had no information regarding any citations or charges involving the driver, as the investigation is continuing.
