Summer of Love: $5, free cats at Humane Society of C.O.

KTVZ

Summer weather has finally arrived and the felines are feeling fine. In celebration of summer the Humane Society of Central Oregon is lowering the adoption fee to $5 for cats 6 months and older and all cats 8 years and older are FREE through the end of June. The shelter is filled with cats, and one is sure to steal your heart.

As with all Humane Society of Central Oregon adoptions, your feline will receive the spay or neuter, health exam donated by local veterinarians, first vaccination, feline leukemia testing, microchip, collar, identification tag, carrying box, food and more.

The shelter’s promotion not only saves the lives of cats, but also enriches the lives of people. Everyone experiences stress or a bad day, but help can be just a cat-in-the lap away. Studies have shown that feline therapy eases anxiety by lowering blood pressure and releasing “feel good” endorphins.

Adopting a cat saves lives by giving a cat a second chance, and also gives you a lifelong companion who will bring many years of love and devotion. You can also help by becoming a foster home for kittens and donating canned cat food.
