C.O. builders, Realtors will compete to help Bethlehem Inn

KTVZ

This week, leaders of the Central Oregon Builders Association (COBA) and Central Oregon Association of Realtors (COAR) announced their shared support of Bethlehem Inn’s Capital Campaign.

Leaders of COBA and COAR are encouraging members of their respective organizations to support construction of the Inn’s family residential and service hub building with either personal or corporate contributions.

Funds raised by the organizations will help Bethlehem Inn meet the $5.3 million target to fully fund the new facility and “advance our shared vision of a Central Oregon where everyone has a home,” says COBA President Jeff Payne.

When complete in mid-2018, the new facility will allow Bethlehem Inn to serve more people, more effectively, and with greater cost-efficiency. The new family residence will also double the number of families who will be able to receive support from the Inn to transition from homelessness to stability.

The collaboration with builders and Realtors was organized by Bethlehem Inn capital campaign Chair Heather Tennant Salvesen, who put together a task force of leading professionals from both fields.

“The fun part of this is that builders and realtors not only want to help, they want to compete against each other to see who can help the most!”

“Our members help people realize the dream of homeownership on a daily basis,” says COAR President, Carolyn Bostwick. “However, for many in our community just having a safe place to sleep at night is a struggle.”

The collaboration and competition kicks off this month and is expected to culminate before completion of the family residential and service building in mid-2018.
