A Redmond woman was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 126 just west of Redmond, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP and medics responded around 1:20 a.m. to the crash on Highway 126E near milepost 109, just west of Southwest Helmholtz Way and east of 55th Place, said Sgt. Yvette Shephard.

An initial investigation found that a green 2000 Ford Mustang driven by Angela Diane Sousa, 35, was heading west on the highway when she failed to negotiate a curve, Shephard said.

The car left the highway, rolled several times and struck several large rocks, the sergeant said.

Medics performed life-saving measures, but Sousa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members have been notified, the trooper said. Other details, such as seat belt usage, were not yet available, she added.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Redmond Fire and Rescue medics and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
