Grim tally: 15 dead in 12 C.O.-related crashes this summer

Sunday’s deadly crash marks at least the 12th fatal crash in Central Oregon, or that killed Central Oregonians, recorded since the Memorial Day weekend. Fifteen people have died in those crashes:
The list below does not include other, often serious-injury crashes in the region over that period, or numerous fatal crashes elsewhere in Oregon since the summer driving season began.
May 27: Mark Hiatt, 51, of Bend, was killed in a rollover crash of a pickup truck on state Hwy. 27 in Crook County
June 5: Frederick Winkler. 69, of Silverton, was killed in a head-on crash of a pickup and tanker truck hauling apple juice on Highway 97 north of La Pine.
June 6: Ronald Ernest Davis, 57, of Powell Butte, suffered fatal injuries when his Knife River pickup was struck in an I-5 work zone near Wilsonville.
June 17: Braden Fillmore, 20, of Bend, was killed in the crash of a pickup truck on state Highway 78 in Malheur County.
June 18: William Bodden, 84, of Redmond and wife Diane, 77, were killed in a head-on crash on state Highway 22 west of Detroit.
June 21: Michael Roach, 68, of Dallas, Ore., was killed in a crash that sparked a wildfire on Highway 26 between Madras and Prineville; a passing driver stopped and helped rescue four others from burning SUV.
June 21: Marjorie French, 76, of Gaston, was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 97 north of Redmond.
June 24: Donald Grosh, 92, of Bend, was killed in a two-vehicle crash at Highway 20 and Cooley Road in Bend.
June 25: Ethan Moreschi, 28, of Bend, and Katherine Sales, 80, of Eugene, died in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near the entrance to Black Butte Ranch. Timothy Thompson, 28, of Newberg, later died of his injuries in the crash.
June 26: Warren Hensman, 66, of La Pine was fatally injured in a three-vehicle collision at Burgess and Day roads.
June 30: A 9-month-old girl was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 at the Hwy. 361 junction near Culver.
July 2: Angela Sousa, 35, of Redmond, was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Hwy. 126 west of Redmond.
Meanwhile, The Oregonian reported Saturday that there were at least 27 fatalities on Oregon roads in June.
