Reed Market Road to close at 27th Street for sewer work
On Friday, the city of Bend will close the east end of Reed Market Road near the intersection of 27 th Street.
Between Daly Estates Drive/Camelot Place and 27 th Street, the contractor will close Reed Market Road for work on the 27 th Street Sewer Line Project. This closure restricts access to the easterly most section of Reed Market Reed only. Reed Market will remain open between 15 th Street and Daly Estates Drive/Camelot Place.
See the updated map at the project website: www.bendoregon.gov/SEI .
Detours are on Ferguson Road to 15 th Street. Southbound traffic on 27 th Street remains open; northbound traffic is closed. This closure is anticipated to be in place until September 1 .
“We are making good progress on the sewer installation,” said Eric Forster, project manager. “After the sewer is installed the road will be repaved and restriped for a brand new surface.”
The 27 th Street Sewer Line is part of the Southeast Interceptor, an addition to the City’s sewer collection system that will provide relief to sewer transmission capacity issues around Bend. The interceptor’s benefits include:
· Increased collection system capacity
· The availability of gravity sewer service to hundreds of homes that are currently on septic systems
· The opportunity to decommission several sewer pump stations
The city of Bend protects drinking water sources, public health and the environment by conveying and treating wastewater from throughout the city.
