Mom in Springfield wagon-towing case pleads guilty, released

KTVZ

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) – A Eugene woman arrested for towing children behind her car on a city street July 12 has pleaded guilty and been released from custody.

The Register-Guard reports (https://goo.gl/GyVqzk ) 27-year-old Alana Donahue pleaded guilty this week to recklessly endangering another person.

The agreement requires Donahue to not engage in any similar conduct, and says she must comply with any state Department of Human Services directives and not have contact with the 8-year-old victim in her case. Police say the victim was her nephew.

Donahue was arrested after witnesses reported seeing her two children, ages 3 and 5, riding in a red, plastic wagon that was tied to the back of a Ford Taurus. Police subsequently learned of a photo that showed an 8-year-old boy riding in the wagon.

Attempts by the newspaper to reach Donahue by telephone were not successful Friday.
