KTVZ

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say they’ve arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with an apartment complex fire that killed two people in Portland last weekend.

Authorities said Ryan Thomas Monaco was booked into the Multnomah County Jail Thursday afternoon on charges of aggravated murder and first-degree arson, and that he was due to be arraigned on Friday. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

The fire tore through the Camp Manor Apartments in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning, displacing about two dozen people. Authorities have not released the identities of the two people killed, as they are still trying to locate and notify family members.

Investigators did not provide any further information about the investigation.
