Redmond shopping center to offer new options
Food and retail options are in the works for a roughly 3-acre plot of land in north Redmond.
Ralph Bigelow, a broker at Commercial Realty Advisors Northwest, would not name names, but said residents should prepare for something new.
“If we’re successful we will be bringing at least two entities to Redmond that are not currently in the market,” he said Thursday.
Without name dropping, he said a fast-food restaurant is one, “and the other is a medical (and) dental use (business) that is not there now,” he said. Another addition he wants to secure is a brew pub.
The shopping center will be located on Highway 97 and Oak Tree Lane. Bigelow said it is expected to be three buildings totaling about 16,000 square feet. Before the plans can take shape there is some work to be done.
“The city is going to require us to extend Oak Tree Lane to the west, modifying the signal light there to a four-way movement,” Bigelow said.
Negotiations are still in the works. The goal is to break ground in early 2018 and be offering Redmond a taste of something new by next summer.
