Man, 68, drowns in Henry Hagg Lake
HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Authorities have recovered the body of a 68-year-old man who drowned in Oregon’s Henry Hagg Lake.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Mark Cuddigan of Hillsboro went under Sunday night while swimming with a friend at Bobcat Cove.
Deputies found the body at 2 a.m. Monday. It has been turned over to the county medical examiner.
The sheriff’s office says it found no evidence of foul play.
The lake west of Portland has been the scene of other drownings, including a 2014 incident that claimed four lives.
Since those drownings, the county has increased its safety measures by installing warning signs and supplementing existing life jacket loaner stations.
