Redmond man arrested on charges of luring teen
A 20-year-old Redmond man has been arrested on charges he contacted a 15-year-old Redmond girl by text message and social media, providing sexually explicit photos of himself and suggesting they meet, police said Tuesday.
Police received the report Monday of a possible luring of a minor for sexual conduct, said Detective Sergeant Hank Majetich.
Rose and the teen were acquaintances, he added.
Rose was contacted, interview and arrested on one count of luring a minor for sexual conduct and five counts of second-degree encouraging child sex abuse, as well as two counts of online sexual corruption of a child.
Rose was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail in Bend, where he was held on $40,000 bail.
The detective said police ask anyone knowing anything about the incidents or similar involvement with Rose to report them through the non-emergency dispatch number at 541-693-6911.
“The Redmond Police Department want our community to fee safe and would like to remind parents to be aware of any suspicious activity sent or received on their children’s devices (to include phone, computers and tablets),” Majetich said in a news release.
