Woman struck and killed crossing road near Albany

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a 77-year-old woman has been struck and killed by a vehicle near Albany.
 
Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley says Anna Dirkje Evan was crossing Seven Mile Lane to get her newspaper before dawn Tuesday morning when she was struck by a man driving to work.
 
Authorities say the 24-year-old driver has been cooperative and no drugs or alcohol were involved.
