Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM
Happy Friday evening, everyone!
A FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IS IN PLACE FOR THE BEND, REDMOND, MADRAS, AND WARM SPRINGS AREAS. DENSE FOG IS EXPECTED IN LOW LYING ELEVATIONS AND WE COULD SEE ICY SPOTS ON ROADWAYS.
AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH AT LEAST TUESDAY FOR POOR AIR QUALITY LEVELS DUE TO THE INVERSION.
Depending on your location you’ll either see fog or clear skies. Low lying elevations will see fog lingering tonight with cold temperatures, while areas in higher elevations will see clear skies and single digit lows.
Saturday will see sunshine overhead apart from the fog. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s for higher elevations. Temperatures will top out in the 20s and lower 30s for lower elevations underneath the fog.
Air quality levels will suffer due to the inversion in place trapping pollutants close to the earth’s surface. Keep this in mind if you have respiratory issues. Even if you do not have respiratory issues the air quality might affect you.
High pressure is overhead and is not looking to move any time soon. Sunshine will be the name of the game if you do not have fog overhead. Temperatures out from underneath the fog will be mild and above average for this time of year. Snow is not in our extended forecast.
Roadways could be slick to begin the day under the fog as temperatures fall below freezing through the overnight and early morning hours.
Have a happy & safe weekend!
