Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 A.M. WEDNESDAY MORNING FOR SNOW ACCUMULATING ON ROADWAYS AND WINDY CONDITIONS. EXPECT WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS AND BE PREPARED WITH CHAINS OR TRACTION TIRES.

The ski resorts are looking at another foot of snow from this evening through tomorrow afternoon. Snow levels are falling to 1,500′ by the morning. Any precipitation we see between now and tomorrow morning will change from rain over to snow. The morning commute could be slick, so keep that in mind! Lows will dip into the lower 20s.

Wednesday will be the transition day. We’ll see what few remaining snow showers we have wrap up and will look at a clearing trend. Daytime highs will not make it out of the 30s for many locations, which is falling slightly below average.

Heading into the end of the week we’re looking at more sunshine than anything else, but cold temperatures. Highs for Thursday and Friday will be in the 30s. Saturday and Sunday will fall into the mid 20s.

Christmas Eve and Day are expected to be dry, but cold.
