Youth basketball referees needed by Bend Parks and Rec

Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking referees to officiate games for the 2018 Youth Basketball Program for boys and girls in third to fifth grades.

Potential applicants must enjoy working with youth and be able to create a positive, encouraging environment. Although prior referee experience is not required, all referees must have basketball knowledge, and pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age.

Pay rate is $12 per game. Games are played at Bend-area middle schools on Saturdays from Jan. 20 to March 10.

Anyone interested must attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Park and Recreation District Office, 799 SW Columbia St.
