Local Alert Weather – Thurs. AM
Happy Thursday morning, everyone!
A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 P.M. FOR WIND GUSTS TOPPING 50 MILES PER HOUR. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL GUST OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST AROUND 30 MILES PER HOUR.
Temperatures will be mild with this system. Heavy rain and snow showers are expected for the Cascades. An Avalanche Warning is in effect until 6 P.M. for the west slopes of the Cascades from highway 20 to the north for heavy rain, snow, and windy conditions. Backcountry exploring is not recommended during this time.
Daytime highs will top out in the low to mid 50s, which is around 10 degrees above average. Windy conditions will be with us all day long and tonight will be breezy. Rain showers kick up for the afternoon before tapering off for the evening.
Overnight lows will be in the 30s, which is also above average. Breezy conditions at times will extend through tomorrow morning. Partly cloudy skies will be overhead tonight.
High pressure moves into the region tomorrow and we’ll see a clearing trend heading into the weekend. Friday will start with some clouds in the morning, but will end the day with sunshine. This weekend will be sunny with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
