Local Alert Weather – Fri. AM

KTVZ

Happy Friday morning, everyone!

After a few light snow showers moved through overnight we’re waking up to frosty conditions and some spots of ice. Take your time getting out the door this morning — you’ll need it to warm your car up! Temperatures will start in the 20s.

Throughout the day snow showers will be scattered for the mountains and Cascades. Winter driving conditions will be the case through the weekend. Winds for Mt. Bachelor today will be out of the southwest around 30 miles per hour at times.

Central Oregon can expect mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies today with chilly temperatures. Highs will be around average in the upper 30s and lower 40s. There’s a slight chance for a few snow showers to make their way east of the Cascades, but overall we will be dry.

Overnight clouds will increase and lows will be in the 20s and 30s. Again tonight there is a slight chance for snow showers, but a much better chance for higher elevations.

Sunday afternoon is when the next system is set to arrive. Snow levels will be around 3,300′ in the evening, then falling to 2,800′ by Monday morning. Those in higher elevations will see some snow with others seeing a rain/snow mix.

Have a happy & safe weekend!
