Bethlehem Inn names four new board members

Bethlehem Inn is proud to announce the election of four new board members to its Board of Directors.

The Inn, which provides over 31,000 nights of shelter per year for the situationally homeless, has a 14-member Board that oversees the Inn’s operating budget, supports annual fundraising, and more recently, directs plans for the Inn’s new expansion and its Transforming Lives Together capital campaign.

The four incoming board members include community members from a variety of professions who will contribute a wide range of experience in civic leadership. The new board members include Jen Barcus , Jill Craveiro , Rev. Dr. Steven Koski and Chris Telfer. Bios of the new members are as follows:

Jen Barcus

Jen is a Commercial Lender with First Interstate Bank in Bend. She has worked in commercial lending in a variety of capacities throughout the Northwest for the past seven years. Prior to that, she received a Finance degree from Washington State University and an MBA from Gonzaga University. In addition to the serving on the Bethlehem Inn Board, Jen also serves on the Bend Leadership Board for the Ronald McDonald House.

Jill Craveiro

Jill is a CPA with 10 years of experience working with regional and national home builders. She worked in public accounting in Portland before that, auditing and providing financial consulting services to companies in a wide range of industries. She was raised in Bend and went to college at Santa Clara University and then received her Master’s in Financial Statement Analysis at Portland State University. She moved back to Bend in 2009 and is now raising two young children with her husband. She states “Life can change rapidly for any of us, and having a place to go for families experiencing difficulties or struggling financially is crucial to this community.”

Rev. Dr. Steven Koski

Steven Koski has degrees in English, Psychology and Theology from Hamline University, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and McCormick Theological Seminary. Steven has served as a Pastor for the past 30 years in Australia and the United States. He has been the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Bend for the past 12 years. Steven shares “First Presbyterian Church of Bend has been a strong supporter of Bethlehem Inn for years. I have seen firsthand the way each and every person who comes to Bethlehem Inn is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. I am humbled and honored to have this opportunity to contribute to such a vital mission and organization serving our community.”

Chris Telfer

Chris earned her BSBA at the University of Denver with post graduate studies at the University of Oregon. She has more than 32 years of experience as a CPA with expertise in non-profits, growing businesses, tax, and real estate development. Chris is a former Bend City Councilor and Oregon State Senator and currently serves as Oregon Lottery Commissioner. She has owned five other businesses in various fields such as land development, sales, commercial real estate and a restaurant.

Bethlehem Inn wishes to acknowledge the contributions of members who are stepping down from the Board after serving in a variety of capacities. Exiting board members include Sandy Gianotti, Rev. Jenny Warner and Patti Craveiro.

Bethlehem Inn is Central Oregon’s largest emergency shelter; providing shelter, food and case management services to over 1,100 adults and children last year; 82,000 meals were served to people in crisis.
