Bend 2030 announces interim management plan

KTVZ

The Board of Directors of Bend 2030 has voted to adopt an interim management plan following the resignation of the organization’s executive director, Erin Foote Morgan, in December.

Effective immediately, Jillian Taylor, the board chair, will step in as interim executive director. She will be supported by Bill Buchanan, Vice Chair, Lou Capozzi, Treasurer, and David Morman, Secretary. Taylor will take a temporary leave of absence as Bend 2030’s board chair, but will continue to serve on the board.

The board also announced plans to begin recruitment of a new executive director, and to continue it’s ongoing activities. “It’s full steam ahead,’ said Taylor. “We’re excited to continue the great programs we launched in 2017 and to continue to make a positive impact on our special city.”

Bend 2030 has three ongoing initiatives:

the Housing Workgroup developed 13 recommendations which were presented to the City Council late last year, several of which are under active development; the Move Bend Coalition, formed by Bend 2030 in late 2016, has attracted more than 40 members from across the community to provide input into City, County and Regional transportation plans; and in partnership with Opportunity Knocks, the Civic Equity Project supports local under-represented organizations to participate in civic dialog and decision making in Bend.

“Program activities will continue to involve Bend 2030 board members, who will provide staff support, as needed, until a permanent executive director is named,” added Taylor.

Jillian Taylor has run a business consulting and executive coaching practice in Bend for seven years and recently launched a new small business focused on strategic business planning and marketing. She holds a Master’s Degree in Organization Development. In addition to her community work for Bend 2030, Taylor is a member of Looking Forward and the Bend Chamber’s Leadership Bend Alumni team.
