Local Alert Weather – Wed. AM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday morning, everyone!

We’re waking up to showers this morning on the High Desert. Apart from the showers we’ll see mostly cloudy skies. Snow showers will be in the higher elevations to begin the day with more rain for lower elevations. If you encounter a snow shower know that the roads could be icy and/or slick.

As we go through the day snow levels will fall behind a passing cold front. Snow levels will end the day around 2,300′. Gusty winds will peak out of the south around 25 miles per hour. A Winter Storm Warning is still in effect until 8 p.m. for the Cascades. Snow will accumulate on the passes with strong winds creating blizzard-like conditions at times.

Daytime highs will be in the 40s for most of the region today. Overnight lows will fall into the 20s as we’ll get a break in the clouds allowing for temperatures to fall. Snow levels will fall to 1,400′ at times overnight.

Once the cold front passes tonight we will see unsettled weather in its wake. Showers will be scattered by tomorrow. Colder air is moving in behind the cold front as well. We’ll gradually cool heading into the end of the week.

Thursday morning will wake up to some snow showers and slick/icy spots on the roads. A dusting of snow is expected in the Bend area with more expected in higher elevations.
