(Update: OSP says no apparent injuries)

A loaded lumber truck and car collided on Highway 20 east of Bend, causing the semi-truck to overturn and block the highway for several hours. But Oregon State Police said there were no apparent injuries to either driver.

The crash was reported around 6:15 p.m. near Milepost 11 near the intersection with Rickard Road, about six miles east of Powell Butte Highway, ODOT officials said.

Troopers said both drivers were taken to St. Charles Bend for evaluation but that neither had apparent injuries. Witnesses said the truck’s wreckage had to be cut away to free the driver, who walked to the ambulance.

Detours were established for the lengthy process of removing the semi and the spilled lumber from the roadway. ODOT urged drivers to delay their trip or find an alternate route. The highway reopened around 10 p.m.

Consolidated Towing removed both vehicles and the trailer from the scene, troopers said.
