Local Alert Weather 0217 PM

KTVZ

Hello Central Oregon!

It’s been a very windy and chilly day across the high desert. Temperatures will be dropping around freezing with a slight chance of snow storms. This chance will become stronger tomorrow morning. Winds will continue to stay strong even though our wind advisory will be lifted at 10pm. Tonight the winds will stay 30 to 40 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

Sunday will still be breezy with winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour. On top of that the chance of snow will stick around all day and become stronger Sunday evening and night. Temperatures will be cold in the mid to upper 30’s and overnight lows will be dropping back to the teens.

Monday morning there’s a slight chance of snow showers. Throughout the rest of the day weather conditions will get drier and skies will clear up. Even though the showers will stop the cold front will keep our temperatures very cold, below freezing. Daytime highs will only be in the upper 20’s and overnight lows in the single digits. Tuesday will be cold and clear as well.

It won’t be until Wednesday the skies will become mostly cloudy and temperatures will bounce back around average in the lower 40’s. Thursday and Saturday we have a chance of snow showers returning.
