Power back on for 1,300 in Deschutes River Woods

(Update: DRW power restored)

A power outage possibly caused by a blown transformer affected more than 1,300 Pacific Power customers in the Deschutes River Woods area south of Bend for more than two hours Sunday night.

Minutes after a dispatcher report of a blown transformer with sparks at Arapaho Lane and River Woods Drive around 8:20 p.m., Pacific Power’s online outage page indicated 1,303 customers had lost power in the area.

The utility had said it could take until 4 a.m. to restore service, but several DRW residents reported power came back on around 11 p.m. and Pacific Power’s outage update map soon cleared it as well.
